Shakti Samuha: Kathmandu, Nepal
In March 2016, I had the privilege of spending a few days with a group of young girls, victims of human trafficking and rescued by the non-profit Shakti Samuha in Kathmandu. After teaching them the basic concepts of light and photography, the girls had fun exploring their lives at the shelter with cameras. They found this fun artistic activity something out of the ordinary, enabling them to talk about their lives and their hopes for a better future.
